Can I mount this in front of my airplane, and see what the altitude is with tilting my camera to it and see? Or do I have to get the eaglethree thing? If you don't understand, this is a simple way to say it.:
If I took this on a real airplane, could I see the altitude on the little screen live?

It does both. If you have an ELogger (V3), you can log data. If you have the ELogger + OSD Pro, you can send the altitude down to your video. If you have neither, it will tell you the maximum height you got to.

In Standalone it will you give to the highest altitude reached. this remain in it memory until you fly again over about 10 meters (30 feet) even after disconnecting from power... A lead servo lead is Supplies to plug into a free spot.WARNING make sure you put it in the RX the right way on both the Unit and the RX or YOU WILL DESTROY it.. If you want to log the flight history you will need to ny the V3 logger this will record all data and the via USB and the software that come with the logger you can play back the flight.. this is also for the Air speed logger. the Eagle Tree system is good in that it has the option of standalone or with the V3 Data logger you can build up a good Data collection process.. add the OSD, GPS, put on a cam .. you have a cheap but good VR module data unit. by as you need and can afford

BTW.. each Sensor.. altitude, air speed and the LCD are set up to daisy chain.. great system the LCD as the last with the V3 data power V3logger.. this give you watts, mAh uses, battery Voltage.. it also has places for other sensors Temp, Head speed (Motor RPM) etc.. but are not needed.. all thi can be added as you need it I and now with the OSD pro version it a must for VR all displayed in real time.. of course the Data Loggre can be set to sample at different rates.. form X10 samples per sec.. and down,, the more samples the less time but the buffe has about 1 hour record time at X5 samples per sec for X2 units. this is really enough for altitude and air speed. As you add more senors the buffer will fill quicker. and give you less storage time.. you can set it to over write data of stop recording once full..of reduce sample rate your choice for your application.
