Does it need an extra charger or it can also charge the batteries when they are depleted?

Should I be able it read the voltage on the JST connector? All I get is 0 00. I will get a voltage reading if I connect a Rx batt.

I recieved mine 2 days ago.
Nice item. JST balancer port... so u need adapterboard (HK has) to connect other balancerplugs to MKS. For Hyperion balancerplug i just cutoff the plastik pin. Fits nice.
Shows cell voltage and overall voltage.
Can balance without charger and while charging. Balancespeed is not so fast as my LBA10 but its ok. Nice one ! Thx HK !

hello, somebody knows if i can use this balancer at the same time i charge the lipo via deasn plug???
   kuzma (58%)
The balancer works INDEPENDENTLY of charging/discharging trough main leads of your battery (be it deans plug or any other type of battery-charger connection).
For balancing and discharging purpose it can be used WITH or WITHOUT your main battery charger.

Here is the manual for it.

I hope the above link works.
Im not sure.

NOTE WELL!! if cells are out of balance by more than .2 volts, This thing WILL NOT WORK. IT SAYS THIS IN THE MANUAL

fnation (25%)
Will this work with the Hobbico Accu-cycle Elite Battery Cycler?
   kuzma (58%)
MKS 3in1 Balancer/Discharger will work with any of your chargers/cyclers as it connects only to the balancing port of your lipo and thus is charger independent. Output wires of your charger/cycler are connected directly to your lipo battery.
PS: Just make sure you buy an appropriate balancing lead with JST connector for the MKS port and the other type your lipo batteries have, as the MKS comes naked with NO leads/connectors at all.

kuzma (58%)
The manual says MKS can balance LiPo cells DURING charging. How does it work in CC phase, when cell voltage is constantly growing? Or it's balancing in CV phase only?
   cmartin (54%)
I mainly use it during charging and it works great. As soon as the charger finish the charging operation I take a look to the MKS display and I always find a perfectly balanced battery.
I have tested it to balance LiPo batteries during charging, in a capacity level ranging from 700 to 2400mAh, 3S1P.

Hi,I am after the leads to use with this tester I have the following batteries:
Hyperion, Polyquest, Loongmax, ADF, HXT, Flightpower and a several different types of your cheaper small lipos. Do you have the lead/boards for these batteries? Cheers!
   Alvaro (62%)
search within HK, there are plenty of solutions

How I can connect my Fligh Power balancer cable to the balancer? I need Flight Power Femal to JST Male but I am not able to find it. Suggestion? Need for 5S and 3S.
   AuroraRising (71%)
Found adapter on Flight Power catalogue.

Madrc (20%)
do you sell the 6s balancer plug to suit this balancer? most of my battery are 3s jst-xh balance plug and i'm using them in series for 6s. an 2x3s to 6s adapter plug would be nice..
   Alvaro (62%)
search within HK, there is one or two solutions to your problem

Madrc (20%)
what comes with this balancer?
   mcregor (34%)
Hi,
Only the balancer itself - nothing more.
But you don't need any more if you have batteries with JST-XH plugs.

will this item balance a FlightPower EVO-25 5000mah 6S li-po? I have 'Thuder Power' leads for balance connection ( there are two plugs that must be connected into a balancer simultaneously. Can this balancer handle this type connection???

Hrvoje (87%)
It took me 2 minute to find manual, but obviously people are to lazy to do this, it's easier to ask.
I will not post link to manual, but will give one tip: manufacturer is MARK STAR Servo-tech Co.,Ltd.

   zaskarkid (73%)
Who are you to be calling people lazy simply b/c they post honest questions? The purpose of the new tab is to solicit product questions.

zaskarkid (73%)
Can the rate of discharge (current) be adjusted?

How does the balancer function work?
How does it work with a lipo charger that has a balancer in it?
   Tadango (84%)
Discharge rate cannot be adjusted and is unknown. Manual says nothing about discharge rate.
   Smeagle (83%)
Manual says, max bleeding current is 450mA. So I would guess, discharge current should be 450mA, too?

Manual can be downloaded at mks servo homepage. Use Google to find it.

zaskarkid (73%)
Is it self contained? Does it have internal batteries or does it require a power supply for discharging? How about posting the manual?
   theDuke (81%)
It is nourished by the current of the battery you are testing, does not require any power supply and the manual is set when you come to me have sent.

Tadango (84%)
What is the balance current?
   theDuke (81%)
Supports 2 ~ 6 Cell Balancing tabs.
is designed for Li-Polymer and Li-Fe battery, it can measure battery voltage precisely and execute balance work for series batteries, or for battery discharge in order to for long time storage to avoid battery damaged. It can be used as a portable battery meter as it is lightweight, self-contained and with a large display. You can also bring the Balancer to the flying field for battery checking purpose.
